Need Awareness For Breast Cancer In Men

There’s a great deal of promotion that goes on to educate women about their risk of developing breast cancer, however that same amount of energy isn’t often spent on awareness programs for men. And although breast cancer in men is not as common as it is for women, it is still a concern, and every year men also die from breast cancer.

 

According to Reuters Health – 1 in every 100 cases of breast cancer that are diagnosed are actually in a man, but with men, most times the cancer is already in late stage when the tumours are diagnosed. That just goes to prove even more that awareness programs for men need to be increased.

 

In men, the tumours are usually palpable by the time they actually discovered. By the time a man sees signs such as changed in the skin or nipple area the tumours are palpable.
