Is Tea The Secret To Preventing Breast Cancer
According to a report done by Fox News, just three cups of tea a day could keep breast cancer away. Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida conducted a study where researchers learned that an increase in the amount of tea one drank significantly reduced the risk of breast cancer in women under 50. A 37% reduction was certainly enough to take notice.
Another rarer form of breast cancer has a tumour that can be found deep in the breast tissue in the lobes. It was cut by 67%. Now that’s even more impressive.
Tea contains polyphenols that researchers believe provide cancer protection. These polyphenols are even more potent in green tea. As an added bonus, it also has been associated with a reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, and high cholesterol.
Actually, there have been many tea studies and their antioxidant properties may actually reduce not just breast cancer, but also gastric, skin, and esophageal cancers when you drink four or more cups a day. Another study showed two cups a day means a lower risk of ovarian cancer. Green, black, oolong, and white teas have the highest polyphenols.
While we don’t have many answers, any who have come with a great deal of excitement. If drinking three cups of tea a day can do so much to reduce your risk of developing breast cancer, what have you got to loose? Why not enjoy a little relaxation time while you sip, after all it’s good for stress too!
