On Valentines Day Walk Like A Man Walk A Thon For Breast Cancer Goes From LA to NY

The Walk a Thon for breast cancer is a common way to raise both money and awareness, and each year so many different organizations step up to plate all in the name of finding a cure for breast cancer. A great big thanks goes out to all these organizations and clubs. I thought now would be a good time to provide a list of just a few that are coming up.

Walk Like a Man” Walk-A-Thon in support of breast cancer is sponsored by the Crespi All Boys High School Lacrosse team will be held at 5031 Alonzo Ave. in Encino and begins at 8 am.

But these guys have done so much more. In early January they launched their nationwide fundraiser for the testing of BRCA1 and BRCA2 breast cancer genes. It’s called Walk Like A Man, and in just a month this lacrosse team has already raised $20,000.

Today, Valentines day will see the lacrosse team walk from Los Angeles to New York to raise money for the breast cancer gene testing. The hope is to present a check live on Good Morning America.

This is the only event of its kin in LA and it proves to be yet another success this year. There’s a lot of events tied to the Walk Like A Man campaign including a silent auction, a sock hop, apparel sales, spotlight auctions, door to door campaigns, and corporate campaigns.

One boys high school lacrosse team had a vision and that vision was to raise funds for breast cancer gene research and they’ve been very successful thanks to their hard work and dedication.

Perhaps more of us need to take this kind of a stance and pull together our friend and our resources in hope of fighting this deadly disease that takes away our mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, aunts and friends.
