I had a completely different topic in mind for the article today until I heard the news just announced that Phil Mickelson will quit the PGA tour to support his wife as she undergoes surgery to remove a cancerous breast tumor in the next two weeks.

For those who do not know the name, Phil Mickelson is currently rated number 2 in the world for the PGA (Golf). He was set to play in another championship tournament this weekend. Nevertheless, Mickelson plans to stand by his wife through her ordeal and has suspended his tour indefinitely.

Amy was well known around the PGA circuit, always showing friendliness to others and support for her hubby. USA Today states her treatment will begin within the next two weeks with surgery. You can read the source article for this blog post here.

With the thousands of breast cancer diagnoses made each day, why did I focus on this news? Breast cancer impacts everyone, from the rich and famous to the average person. Think Pinker wishes Amy and her family the best possible outcome during this difficult time.

Here at the ranch, we’ll continue hoping and striving for a cure.
