Breast cancer awareness and funds being raised by sheep
Sometimes support for breast cancer comes from the most unexpected places. This time in Australia it comes in the form of sheep. No, the sheep are not actually going around talking about breast cancer, but many now will be sporting bright pink ear tags.
The idea came about from a non-profit organization called the McGrath Foundationand in a nut shell, for every pink ear tag that is sold one penny is donated to the foundation. While it may not seem like a lot of money, the foundation is really after the breast cancer awareness that is sure to be gained with this endeavour.
The McGrath Foundation will use the money raised to help fund the 53 breast care nurses that the foundation currently supports. Part of the money will also be donated to the Breast Cancer Association of Queensland as well.
I love seeing stories like this. Any time awareness and money are raised for breast cancer it is obviously a good thing, but if you can have fun doing it too, then it is all the better. ThinkPinker.com applauds the efforts of the McGrath Foundation and hopes that the program is a smashing success. As for the little sheep helping out, we love the pink earrings girls…keep it up!
