My Pink Warrior calendar features breast cancer survivors

When Bonnie Kilpela was only 14 years old she watched her mother lose her fight against breast cancer. So severe was her risk of eventually getting the dreaded breast cancer diagnosis that Kilpela and her sisters opted for preventative mastectomies.

Now the physician’s assistant is using her experiences couples with her imagination to raiseĀ  breast cancer awareness and some much needed funds. Out of her painful past is born My Pink Warrior, a 2010 calendar that features breast cancer survivors in a pose of their choice with an excerpt of their stories.

Kilpela has put out the calendar to not only raise breast cancer awareness, but to also show the beauty that people can display even in the worst of times. The calendar can also serve as a year round reminder that we all need to be doing our parts in the fight against breast cancer.

Proceeds will benefit The American Cancer Society and the Beacon House in Marquette, Michigan. ThinkPinker.com applauds Kilpela’s efforts and wishes her endeavor to be a smashing success.
