Bayer and Onyx say Nexavar beats expectations

bayerIn a follow up story to the one I did back on July 22, Bayer and Onyx Pharmaceuticals have announced that Stage II trial testing of their hopeful breast cancer pill, Nexavar has more than exceeded its expectations. The trial testing showed that when combined with the standard chemotherapy agent called Xeloda that breast cancer tumor growth was halted for 6.4 moths as apposed to just 4.1 with Xeloda alone.

Researchers described the results as impressive and acknowledged the fact that because Nexavar is made in pill form it makes it a unique and convenient option for treatment. This also means that the pill is one step closer to being fully approved to fight against breast cancer.

This is yet more good news for breast cancer patients who now have an even bigger reason to hold out hope for this drug. As always ThinkPinker.comwill stay on top of this story and just as I did with this piece of news, I will bring you more updates as they become available.

Thanks to research from wonderful companies like Bayer and Onyx, we will one day be able to live in a world that only knows breast cancer survivors because of the fact that a breast cancer cure will exists. Keep the research going!
