Haircuts help find breast cancer cure
Reshia Nickles is the manager of Regis Salon in the Empire Mall and is well aware of how devastating breast cancer can be. Just recently her mother lost her best friend to the dreaded disease. To combat this horrific affliction, Nickles and other hairstylists are banning together for the 19th annual Clips for the Cure that will take place today.
Last years event raised over $6,000 for breast cancer research and of course the event brings about a lot of attention and much needed breast cancer awareness. Haircuts at the event will cost $10 and all proceeds will be donated. This is a chance for those participating to actually save some money as a regular haircut at the salon is $24.
Along with the stylists, local students from Black Hills Beauty College will be giving out manicures and hairstyling for a donation. What a great way to have everyone possible doing their parts to contribute.
ThinkPinker.comhopes that all in the area near the Empire Mall will go treat themselves to a haircut today and enjoy a pedicure too. Remember, we must all band together so that we can one day live in a world where a breast cancer cure exists.
