Breast cancer awareness expands in Saudi Arabia
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is reaching beyond the limits of our borders and has now spread to places like Saudi Arabia. On October 10th the Saudis launched a national breast cancer awareness campaign that is being led by Princess Hessah bint Trad Al-Shaalan.
Part of the initiative is to have women from all over the country get mammograms in a first of its kind center that has been established in King Abdulaziz University -KAU-. The center will be run by breast cancer survivor Dr. Samia Al-Amoudi who is also a member of the Saudi Cancer Society.
The program comes at the right time as breast cancer is the number one form of cancer in the Kingdom and the number one killer of women in the region. This is further proof that we must reach out to women in every corner of the world because breast cancer doesn’t care where you are from it just want to consume you.
ThinkPinker.com is excited to see that breast cancer awareness is beginning to spread to places on the globe that it has never before reached. The more people that know the better. Just think how many more fighters we will now gain in the battle to end breast cancer by finding a breast cancer cure.
