Pink grapefruit now deemed ok
October is a big month. Not only is it it National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Vegetarian Month, but something else is happening that seems to fit perfectly with both; pink grapefruit is back in season.
Back in 2007 a study in the British Journal of Cancer sent a scare to breast cancer patients and all women alike as it revealed that there may be a correlation between the consumption of grapefruit and breast cancer. But what many do not know is that pink grapefruit got a reprieve and 2008 in a different study conducted by the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition. Once again grapefruit is ok for all to enjoy.
This goes along with with recent studies that I have writtenabout saying that a healthy lifestyle, which includes a healthy diet is essential to warding off breast cancer. Pink grapefruit is rich in many vitamins and minerals including vitamin C and should become a staple in your diet while it is in full bloom.
While each color of grapefruit is more than likely equally as beneficial, ThinkPinker.comwants you all to stick to good old PINK. This will allow you to show your colors for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in an all natural way. Enjoy!
