Desert Cancer Foundation welcomes growth with a smile
A little over 12 years ago the Desert Cancer Foundation began with a few hopes and dreams and four very willing volunteers. Last week the organization couldn’t even house its annual luncheon event in the Crown Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort Ballroom as they usually do and were forced to move to the outside pavilion which was packed.
This growth though is a welcomed one for the four brave women who started the organization in an effort to raise money for breast cancer screenings for those with little to no insurance. Now the non-profit organization is considering including prostate cancer awareness as one of its initiatives to go along with breast cancer awareness.
The Arizona group now has 22 on its board and that board is said to show up for work day in and day out. They are still helped out by many dedicated volunteers and their goal is to help find a breast cancer cure.
ThinkPinker.comwishes the Desert Cancer Foundation the best of luck with its expansion efforts and reminds everyone that great things can happen if we all take action. With wonderful non-profit organizations like the Desert Cancer Foundation leading the way there is nothing that we cannot accomplish together. We will beat breast cancer!
