Man arrested for stealing breast cancer patient’s donations
Paula Swanson fought a brave battle with breast cancer and she gritted through the all of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month until she could fight no more and on October 31 she lost her fight and passed away. But that is not the sad part of this post.
Ten days before the 46 year old mother passed on a man robbed a donation jar that was filled with over $200 in donations that were meant to help Paula with her fight. The theft occurred at Lindy’s General Store in Pembroke, MA and the thief was a delivery man tothe store who had just begun to work for Gerber Foods.
Fortunately Lindy’s General Store had video surveillance running and the whole despicable act was caught on tape and the thief has since been arrested. He faces arraignment later this month.
ThinkPinker.com is appalled by such an act and hopes that the criminal’s justice will be just and swift. Our thoughts go out to Paul Swanson’s family and friends and we hope that the fact that the criminal was apprehended lends some comfort to their pain.
Any theft that occurs is a typical act of cowardice, but this represents the lowest of low. Hopefully other would-be criminals will take note and think twice before they decide to take from others.
