Peter Criss of KISS raises male breast cancer awareness
Anyone who is a member of the KISS Army is sure to know who Peter Criss is. As a founding member of the rock band, Criss used to bang the drums for the dynamic rocker group and he is now banging the drums for a different reason; to raise breast cancer awareness in men.
Like most guys, Criss never thought much about breast cancer in men as there is never any advertising done about it and there is little talk about it. The symbol for breast cancer is even a PINK ribbon and everyone knows that pink is a girlie color.
Then Criss got hit with the most unexpected news of his life; a breast cancer diagnosis. Criss first discovered a lump under his nipple after a workout at the gym and after seeing a doctor he discovered the awful truth. While he is now cancer free it is only due to earl detection that he was able to become a breast cancer survivor. Some men are not so lucky.
According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, some 2,000 men annually are diagnosed with breast cancer and 500 of them succumb to the disease. Many of these cases could have ended with a better outcome if the cancer was detected earlier.
Now Criss is on a personal mission to help men be aware that they too must always be vigilant of their bodies and get any lumps checked right away. ThinkPinker.com is behind Criss 100 percent and hopes that all men will head his warning. Rock on Peter!
