Soy now said to be alright for breast cancer survivors
The hotly debated subject of soy is back in the headlines for the world of breast cancer. This time it is a new study showing soy is not only okay for breast cancer survivors, but may be beneficial as well.
The new study that has its results published in the December 9 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that women who where breast cancer survivors and who moderately consumed soy actually decreased their chances of re-obtaining the deadly disease and had a better chance of survival.
This is of course in strong contradiction to past findings that claim soy acts like the female hormone estrogen which can promote tumor growth in the breast. So who is right?
ThinkPinker.com urges you to talk with your own physician and together determine if consuming soy is right for you. The researchers of the new study do say that if you do decide to consume soy that you should do so from natural resources instead of from processed resources.
So the debate over soy goes on and I will of course report on the good and the bad. For now though, it does seem that soy is back on the A-OK list for breast cancer survivors.
