Olive oil has already proven beneficial in so many ways and now researchers are wondering if the magic oil may be good for preventing and slowing breast cancer. Starting in 2010 researchers at The Multidisciplinary Group on Breast Cancer Research -GMECM-, directed by Dr. Eduard Escrich, lecturer of the Department of Cell Biology, Physiology and Immunology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona -UAB- are going to take the next five years and determine what effects olive oil has in relation to breast cancer.

According to past research conducted by the group, olive oil has proven to kill progressive types of breast cancer by suppressing the HER2 gene. Now researchers aim to find out why in their new ongoing study.
