Some like it hot - breast cancer does not

pepWe all know the phrase, ‘Some like it hot,’ and now researchers at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center are taking that to a whole new level. According to their recent findings, black pepper and turmeric may actually help keep breast cancer away and possibly even be able to help treat the deadly disease.

According to the study it is the two components peprine, which comes from black pepper, and curcumin which comes from turmeric that actually target cancer causing stem cells in the breast and help to eliminate them. Even better, the compounds do not disrupt normal cell growth in the breast so it is a true win win. There has been some research done in the past similar to the University of Michigan’s, but this study has proven to be the most comprehensive.

The study’s results have recently been published online in the journal Breast Cancer Research and Treatment. ThinkPinker.com will of course continue to monitor the story and I will report any updates as they become available.

So go ahead and give some life to your food. Spice it up and make it as hot as you desire because you may like it hot, but breast cancer does not!
