New Yorkers ‘Bowl for the Cure’

pballSusan G. Komen and other local charities will be receiving some welcomed donations that can be used to further breast cancer awareness and breast cancer research thanks to some bowlers in Up-State New York. The eighth annual ‘Bowl for the Cure’ took place over the weekend and initial reports are the event was even better than last year.

The event had over 80 bowlers show up for the first day at Paramount Lanes and the total number of participants was over 125 for the weekend. Over the last seven years the event has raised $20,000 to go to charities and Saturday they had already raised about $4,200 with Sunday still to tally. Sounds like it will be a blockbuster year.

Of all the proceeds, 100 percent are being donated in the form of 25 percent going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the other 75 percent going to various local charities that deal with breast cancer issues.

ThinPinker.com hopes that others are encouraged by the passion and ingenuity of these bowlers and will use their own personal passions in life to help raise breast cancer awareness whenever possible. If we all just use our imagination there is so much that can be accomplished and we must all keep fighting until a breast cancer cure is found.
