Iowa Sam’s Club helps breast cancer fight
The Sioux City, Iowa Sam’s Club wanted to get involved in the fight against breast cancer. After discussing what to do in order to get involved, the staff came up with a plan.
One, two, three, DODGEBALL! That’s right, the Sioux City Sam’s Club competed against other Sam’s Clubs in the surrounding area and held a dodge ball tournament. Associates and customers were encouraged to both participate and donate.
When it was all said and done the event raised $7,738 which was given to the local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. According to the affiliate, 75 percent will stay in the Sioux City area and the other 25 percent will be distributed nationally but it will all go to help further breast cancer research, further breast cancer awareness, and further breast cancer education.
ThinkPinker.com is encouraged to see people and companies taking their own initiative to do their parts even though we are months away from October, which of course is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It just goes to show that when you use your imagination anything can be done. Way to go Sam’s Club of Sioux City!
