‘Super Chemo’ - breast cancer cure?
Scientists in London have come up with what they believe may be a miracle breast cancer cure in the form of a sort of ‘super chemotherapy.’ According to the study, a new combination of drugs has the same effect in six weeks that the more conventional chemotherapy counterpart has in six months.
The researchers have so far conducted the tests on mice and have found that when combining doxorubicin and zoledronic acid that breast cancer tumors are destroyed at a much greater pace then with regular chemotherapy alone. This is welcomed news for breast cancer patients as a shorter exposure time to chemotherapy could mean less side effects and a shorter time elapsing between the stress of fighting this disease and getting back to a normal life.
ThinkPinker.com will monitor this story and bring you any updates as they come. While the study is still in its infant stages and there of course has to be testing conducted on human subjects the findings are none the less amazing. Just another reminder that with all the advances in science and all the promising testing and research being conducted right now, 2010 may just be the year we can all proclaim that there is in fact a breast cancer cure.
