High school gymnastics raises money for Komen
The New Hampshire chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure got a welcomed boost of funds to help further breast cancer research. In fact the event raised some very welcomed breast cancer awareness and went off without a hitch.
The event I am speaking of was held on January 11th and saw the Nashua North and South high schools in the area compete in a gymnastics meet. The meet was held in the North gym, but it was the brainchild of the South’s coach earlier in the school year.
The girls that competed had been planning the event since the beginning of the school year and made t-shirts and gift baskets to raffle off all in an effort to raise more funds. While the tally has not yet come in it is known that of all the funds raised 75 percent will stay in the area and the other 25 percent will go to help nationwide. In all though, 100 percent will go towards breast cancer research, breast cancer awareness, and breast cancer education.
ThinkPinker.com hopes that more teenage girls and adults alike will take note of what can be accomplished when you put forth an effort. This is a wonderful story and an inspiration to all.
