ASU to host breast cancer screening debate

deb

Arizona State University will play host to a very important debate on February 11th. ‘Breast Cancer Screening: When to Start and When to Stop,’ will be on the agenda and will see a prominent radiologist from the Mayo Clinic and the former vice chair of the US Preventative Services Task Force debate the recent adjustments made in November by the Task Force to the recommendations of breast cancer screenings.

While it had been said for years that all women ages 40 and up should get a yearly mammogram, the new guidelines are recommending only every other year starting at age 50.  During the debate everything will be discussed from cost of prevention to the overall risk to women under the recommend age of 50.

The event is open to the public and ThinkPinker.com hopes that all in the area will attend this important debate. Though there is no cost to attend, the University is asking that you RSVP so if you plan on going please let them know.

This debate will be an important one for breast cancer awareness and breast cancer prevention and I will keep you postedon any updates as they unfold.
