Breast cancer on the rise in the US

pink

Of the many things that I get to report on, these are the stories that I dread but they are also the ones that need to be told. Last year the number of women who suffered from breast cancer in the United States was up 5.5 percent to 192,000. This is in comparison to the 182,000 that were affected in 2008 according to the American Cancer Society.

While these numbers are frightening they need to be known so that further breast cancer awareness can spread. While the progress to finding a breast cancer cure is certainly gaining momentum, these numbers show that we are still losing the battle overall.

ThinkPinker.com hopes that this story serves as a wakeup call to all men and women in America that more needs to be done. Further research and studies must be conducted and in order to do that there is a lot of money that needs to be donated and a lot of time that needs to be given. Yes we can all sit on the sidelines and hope for the best, but we all know that will not get us to where we need to be.
