Safeway donates $248,000 to Komen

safe

One of the country’s leading grocery chains as you may well know is Safeway. What you may not have known is that Safeway has long been a supporter of breast cancer awareness and one of the most noble charities of all; Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Recently Safeway presented a check in the amount of $248,000.00 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Denver Affiliate and the money is said to be going directly to breast cancer education, breast cancer screens, and breast cancer treatments. While some of the money will be used nationwide, the bulk of it will stay right in the state of Colorado.

Safeway has been raising funds for breast cancer and helping by giving to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure for 11 years now. The result of all their hard work over the years has been the equivalent of over $3 million. ThinkPinker.com salutes big companies such as Safeway that go out of their way to make a difference.

Let’s face it, breast cancer is winning the battle; but it won’t win the war! So long as we all hope, give, and fight together breast cancer doesn’t stand a chance.
