Kids need to understand breast cancer too
Often times when someone we know is dealing with a dreaded breast cancer diagnosis we can all overlook some very important people; our children. Children by and large have no idea what may be happening to their mom, grandma, aunt, sister, or whoever it is that is dealing with the breast cancer. We cannot forget that they too have feelings and that they too need our love and support.
Sometimes it helps to sit down with our children and explain to them exactly what is going on and what exactly must be done. This can help to lessen the shock that many children will endure when they have to see someone they love going through various breast cancer treatments such as chemotherapy that could cause their loved one to become weak or even lose their hair.
While we may feel that we don’t want to bother our children with the problems that are associated with breast cancer, if we don’t keep them informed then they may become scared and confused and this does nobody any good. ThinkPinker.com urges everyone to consider their kids and take the time to talk to them. After all, they are little people too and they deserve to be a part of the fight with all of us adults.
