One of the largest insurance companies in the world is now under heavy scrutiny as there are claims surfacing of the company targeting those who receive a breast cancer diagnosis to have their insurance coverage terminated. WellPoint is the target of the scrutiny and the accusations are being taken very seriously.

The matter has in fact drawn national attention and prompted Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to come out and urge the company to cease its practices calling them “deplorable.” WellPoint has been quick to react and deny such allegations.

With the new Health Reform that has recently been placed into effect, this type of behavior will soon be a thing of the past, but for now there is nothing legally wrong with what WellPoint is accused of doing. ThinkPinker.com hopes that the problem resolves itself in a timely manner and that all those who deserve care will get it without hassle.

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women here in the states as well as abroad and only by working and fighting together will we all be able to beat the disease. Without love, action, and hope we will never achieve what we all desperately need and want, which is a breast cancer cure.
