Breast cancer stages part 2 - 0 and I
In an ongoing effort to raise breast cancer awareness ThinkPinker.com is proud to bring you more information on the different stages of breast cancer. In my first posting I went over the basics on the different stages of breast cancer and why there are classifications to begin with. This posting will cover the first two stages of breast cancer in Stage 0 and Stage I.
STAGE 0
As 0 is the lowest number on the breast cancer stages scale it stands to reason that it is the stage that has the least amount of risk. Stage 0 breast cancer describes breast cancers that are non-invasive as is the case with DCIS and LCIS. In this very early stage there is no actual evidence of cancer cells moving or breaking out of the part of the breast in which they started. In other words, there is no evidence of an invasion of the bad cells spreading to the normal tissue.
STAGE I
In Stage I of breast cancer there are cancer cells breaking through and invading normal tissue. This stage is an invasive stage of breast cancer and is therefore more serious than Sage 0. Other qualifiers for stage I breast cancer is a tumor that measures up to two centimeters and the exclusion of lymph nodes.
Again, the more we all know about breast cancer the better. Keep spreading the hope, love, and as always…THINK PINK!
