Breast cancer budget cuts picking up steam in California

no-moneyThe state of California is in a bit of disarray financially. Unfortunately now the state is forced to make some drastic budget cuts and even more unfortunately, some of those cuts are coming in the way of funding for breast cancer screenings.

This is in a reaction to the new guidelines that women not receive breast cancer screenings until they are age 50 as opposed to the traditional 4o and then only get them every other year as opposed to every year. Even though many doctors and experts do not agree with the new guidelines set forth it seems to be having an impact.

What is mind boggling is that there are so many stories of women, many that I post stories about on a regular basis, who are affected with this terrible disease well before the age of 50. In fact a good number of these women all received a breast cancer diagnosis well before their 40th birthdays.

Understandably California is in a money pickle, but there will be much debate and even some outrage over this latest round of budget cuts via breast cancer screening. ThinkPinker.com urges all women to talk with their personal physicians and formulate your own plan when it comes to staying one step ahead of breast cancer.
