Breast Cancer Stages part 3 - Stage II

pink-3

In the third part of my report I will go over Stage II of breast cancer so that more breast cancer awareness can be raised for everyone. As the stages progress, so too does the breast cancer and Stage II is no different.

Stage II breast cancer is broken up into two subcategories known as A and B. Here is the breakdown of both:

Stage IIA

·         No tumor found in breast, but axillary lymph nodes have cancer cells present…OR

·         A tumor is found that measures two centimeters and has spread to axillary lymph nodes…OR

·         A tumor is found that is between two and five centimeters and hasn’t spread to axillary lymph nodes.

Stage IIB

·         A tumor is found that is between two and five centimeters and has spread to axillary lymph nodes…OR

·         A tumor is found and is over five centimeters, but it has not spread to the axillary lymph nodes.

Axillary lymph nodes are the lymph nodes underneath the armpit. ThinkPinker.com hopes that our continuing efforts to bring you all the information we can on breast cancer is helpful. I will cover stage III soon so stay in touch and THINK PINKER!
