Rhode Island has a state motto that reads, “Hope” and that is exactly the message that they are wishing to send with their new license plates. Now when any Rhode Islander goes to renew his or her license plates they can opt for a special breast cancer awareness plate that will raise both breast cancer awareness and funds to be donated for breast cancer research.

For a little additional money, you too can get one of these special license plates that features both the state motto and the signature breast cancer pink ribbon. What better way to show your love and support of all those who have been fighting for so long to beat this terrible disease.

While each set of two plates will cost a Rhode Islander $41.50, $20.00 of that will be donated to the Rhode Island Breast cancer Coalition and will be tax deductable. It is the hopes of the Rhode Island officials that at least 900 plates will be purchased so that the state can at least break even with the effort.
