1,000 Cooks for the Cure cook to fight breast cancer
What do Jacques Pepin, Bobby Flay, and Mario Batali all have in common? Besides being outstanding chefs, they are all huge supports of 1,000 Cooks for a Cure. The idea combines Susan G. Komen for the Cure and KitchenAid in an effort to get home cooks to all participate in special three day event where cooking is the word.
Hosted by Komen founder Nancy Brinker and Jacques Pepin, the program brings both pro and master chefs together from July 16 to Jul 18 in an event that has already seen over $7 million raised for breast cancer research and breast cancer awareness.
While it may be too hot to walk or run for the cure this summer, it is never too hot to cook. In fact, when it comes to this program, the hotter the better!
This program encourages all to host their own parties and instead of having guests bring flowers, have them bring donations. ThinkPinker.com thinks that this is a very worthy cause and is behind the idea 100 percent. Hopefully everyone will do their parts and get as involved as possible.
