17 states caving to budget pressures - cutting breast cancer screenings

no-moneyIt seems these days that states are running really shy on monetary funds. How shy? Well, 17 states have recently had to cave into budget pressures and cut funding for much needed breast cancer screenings. These screenings could prove life saving, but the states say they have no choice.

We have seen this in the past from California, but now there are more and more states coming out of the wood works that are pulling the funds needed to continue the breast cancer screenings for those who cannot afford it or do not have insurance. What’s wrong with this picture?

While many wonderful non-profit organizations such as Susan G. Komen for the Cure give the needed funds to certain states, according to those making the cuts…the donations are not enough.

ThinkPinker.comhopes that this post will serve as a call to action and prompt everyone to give what they can. Yes, times are tough, but we must all band together. Breast cancer is not going to take a break because the economy is bad and we must not either.

We must all continue to fight so that every woman on Earth has access to these life saving procedures. If not, aren’t we simply turning our backs on our fellow man? Keep up the love, the hope, and please keep on fighting!
