When she was only  a teenager, Rosie O’Donnell lost her mother to breast cancer. Her mother was only 39 years old at the time of her loss so naturally when O’Donnell found lumps in her breast she was more than a little concerned.

However, despite a big scare for the Hollywood superstar, O’Donnell was able to be negative in a good way. According to numerous tests that she had done, including a biopsy, she is breast cancer free and has been given the all clear. She blogged this info with much enthusiasm.

This story serves as a strong reminder to all women to have any abnormalities checked out right away by your doctor. Don’t wait and hope that it will go away. When it comes to breast cancer prevention, it is all about early detection. Haste makes waste, as they say, and haste with breast cancer can cost you your life.

As for O’Donnell, she is aware of her risks and knows now what she must work on in order to keep breast cancer at bay. Hopefully, she will use her scare to help others and use the opportunity to raise some breast cancer awareness.
