Man honors grandmother lost to breast cancer by running across Texas

pink-31

When Oleus Lilly lost his grandmother to breast cancer, he lost the person that he describes as being his rock. After remembering what his grandmother always used to say, which was he ran so much that one day he would end up running clear across the state,  the Texas man decided to do something big in order to honor his fallen family member and to make a difference.

Now this 31 year old is running across the state of Texas in 27 days. This ultimate tribute to breast cancer awareness is a fitting one to someone who lost their own personal battle to breast cancer, but there is a problem; no one seems to know about his venture.

As of this writing, Lilly has only raised $88.00, which is a far cry away from the $100,000.00 he has set as his goal. What makes this story even sadder is that Lilly has his own life on hold and stands to make nothing from this adventure. He is donating 100 percent of all monies raised to the American Cancer Society.

Thanks to the sacrifices of people like Lilly, there will always be those who fight the good fight against breast cancer and will ensure that one day there will be a breast cancer cure, but not if we all don’t pitch in.
