Mammograms coming soon - IN 3D
Everyone knows how important mammograms are when it comes to detecting breast cancer, but now it seems that there is a new type of technology coming soon and this time its in 3D. This is thanks to a device from a company called Hologic.
Recently the company received great news from the FDA and now says it is one step closer to making 3D mammograms for all, a reality. So, while 3D has made its way into the movie theaters and now homes across America, it may soon find its way in the doctor’s office as well.
Similar technology can already be seen with 3D ultrasounds and the like. These new technologies are better as they show a better picture and a more complete look at the baby and this is similarly what 3D mammograms will do for breast cancer.
Because the 3D device will take images from multiple angels, a more complete picture will be seen. This means better results and hopefully more breast cancer survivors in the end. Technology is a wonderful thing, especially when you can see the positive effects it has against this horrific disease. Hopefully the FDA will fast-track this technology for the greater good of all.
